Out of the mouths of babes....

As many of you know, I work with children.
They are a big part of my life, and I want them to be even after Willie and i have our own.
Many of them now know that I am pregnant are are pretty exited, but two in paticular, really have made my day and even week. I met their family when the oldest Mary was just a baby. I used to attend the same church, and have watched them grow from babies to active happy children. Mary and Joel are the oldest, with Dave and Matt adding to the family. So both Mary and Joel know about The other day I was talking to them abbabies, or at least that they stay in the tummy until It's time to be born. out the baby,
they are so very excited and can't wait until they can hold and play
with the baby. I asked them if they knew how big the baby was... They both shook their head....I told them that  the baby was the size of a an olive or a little bigger...their eyes got big, and they smiled really big! :)  Mary's response was, "Really!?"  Joel's was way cute...he shook his head and said
"nu-huh, babies are this big. "*put his hands out as if he had a big baby belly. ^_^*
I laughed and said that babies had to grow that big , that they started out really small and grew bigger.

I then told them that the baby  was growing fingernails on  his/her tiny fingers
that there was this fuzzy hair growing all over the baby to protect his/her skin
while in my tummy... they loved getting to find out all this about  the baby,
The fun part was that they went around the house after that
telling everyone that Jessica's baby was the size of an olive and had finger nails! Amazing what children will say and take with them.

Dreaming...

There is a little Children's boutique here in Cookeville  that is just the sweetest
there is. A friend of mine from church owns it, and does a lot of the wonderful embroidery
on many of the outfits they sell.
Not only do they do personalized embroidery they also sell some really great and useful items
that I can't wait to try out... :)
Here are some of their delightful items I have run across. :)

This is just a few  of the fun items they have...
The other day We were driving into town and my darling husband surprised me with a visit to the little store.
Days early I had expressed a wish to go see the fun stuff, but up til now I felt it would be silly to just go
and look with no baby on the way, and never really thought about going when Stella or Everitt were babies.
Just thought I would share the fun little spot we here at home.

$5

So the other day we went to go get my Tenn care appointment taken care of
and they sent us over to the health department,
to take the official pregnancy test.
It only took a few moments and I was in and out...
Well If any of you have met my husband or
even been on his facebook
you know what kind of sense of humor he truly has...
He looks at me and says...
you didn't take the test...
(despite the fact that he has seen two pregnancy
test I have taken prior lol  ^_^ )
You paid them five dollars to say it was positive.
Your not pregnant, your just Fat! :) :-D
The things husbands say lol ;)
I love my husband dearly, and he definately will keep me giggling for the rest of my life.
He will make an awesome daddy, and we both can't wait to meet our  lil' punkin' :)

Fix-It-And-Forget-It! :) or as a friend said.. "I'm gonna fix it and eat it!" :)

 potato soup...
The other day I went over to my mothers house and had left over potato soup
for lunch... which made me want some more.
Well... I grabbed my Mom's cook book
and started digging through the pages to find a recipe that sounded
good. :)
Last October for Willie's Birthday I made Chillie and discovered that  I love to use a crock-pot.
It is a great thing when you have a day of running errands or when your your wanting to take a break  from "slaving over a hot stove"
or even just want to let the Beauty of flavors meld together in a slow cooking dish of greatness.. ;)
Either way... It is a marvelous invention .

One of my favorite Cook books is a crock-pot cookbook chocked full of yummy recipes of all kinds.
The Cook book is really good because most of the
recipes do not take a large amount of time...
And It's not that I don't have that...
I'm just a bad judge of time frames...
the beauty of these is all I need to do is
plan a little in advance and wallah...
Tada... I have a great home cooked meal and basically
all I did was throw it in the crock-pot.
Now don't get me wrong...
I love to cook other ways... I just really enjoy this one too. :)

This Sunday was one of those soup days.. and I was really wanting some...
But with it being Sunday I didn't get a lot of time to prepare
....So I got up at 5:30 and started preparing...
Which made me get queasy because I didn't eat breakfast
right away and Punkin' didn't appreciate that lol :)
... Bunny Trail ...
Anyway back to my story...
It was nice because It was all in the crock pot
and turned on by about 6:15 or so... :)
By the time I got home I could add the last
ingredient and let it finish cooking  for the rest of the time. :)
Ok, here is the recipe:
Potato Soup
6 Potatoes, cubed
(you can peel or leave
the skin on )
2 Leeks,Chopped
2 Onions,Chopped
1 Celery stalk, Sliced
4 Chicken Bullion cubes
1 Tbsp Parsley
5 Cups Water
1 Tbsp Salt
Pepper to Taste
1/3 Cup Butter
13 oz Evaporated Milk
Optional:
 1 Carrot
Ham chunks
(The Thick sliced ham
will work in a pinch
But the best is thick
slices cubed right of the bone.^_^)
 Combine all ingredients except for
Evaporated Milk
Cook on Low for 10 to 12 hours
or on High for  3-4 hours
Stir in Milk the last hour.
Add cheese or bacon-bits for a
variation. :) really good. :)

Exercise...

Ok... I am terribly ashamed to admit this...
But I have neglected this part of  my routine...
Before I got married for about four months I was walking
two miles nearly everyday. and I really began to get into shape...
Then the wedding came... oh boy...
I simply, kinda forgot...
well it wasn't exactly like that...

I have a really bad habit that
when I stop following a routine I
stop doing that when I get
back a place where I can start again...
But, part of the reason
was I really don't know the neigborhood ,
The roads here are very busy
with traffic and the I just felt uncomfortable
walking by myself...
over at the house I had my awesome companion
Jenny to keep me company,
But her there is no one who would or could go with me. :(

Now that I am pregnant I am wanting to
eat right and stay healthy...  But again I really haven't
tried that hard and as a matter of course  I have gained for weight in the last few weeks than I want to...
What got me thinking was the simple little non- lying ability of a friend or enemy... how ever you want to phrase it...
That awful little fiend we call our workout friends never lies when it is telling us we have gained more weight. :( And yes I understand that being pregnant  you gain weight- a healthy weight...
So in order for me to be happy

#1: Eating right (which doesn't involve chocolate no matter how much I think I want it! lol)
#2: That means eating fruits and veggies... not a sonic burger... oh yeah a healthy dose of proteins too. :)
#3: this means getting exercise that will be good for me and punkin' both... (not over doing it.)
Does anyone else notice this is kind of sounding like a
New Years Resolution type of thing?
Oh well... Happy New Years Everyone Hope it is blessed and Full of
Fun, Laughter, Joy, and Love
